lil dark but fun

Franken-Poem

By Sarah Dolby

This poet’s eyes
shall see in dark
blackest shadows
to prowl in parks

This writer’s nose
can smell fresh death
starving ravens
vie for sparse flesh

Her bloodless heart
beats smooth as stone
lips cannot speak
but only moan

A blackened quill
ink from the moon
she weaves a yarn
from Edgar’s loom

Stark raving mad
she screams at night
ranting tantrums
for lightning strikes

She named her art
a Franken-poem
like Mary Shelley
in neon chrome

Creating life
from breathless words
IT’S ALIVE
IT’S MOVING
A newborn verse

  3. Do you know Sarah Dolby ? :))) Let me know if you do…

Love its originality: Edgar’s loom & Mary Shelley in neon chrome: sends the world in words reeling to the edges.. Gorgeous match of words to image and such subtle decadence.. 🙂

  4. ..sharp imagery in a dark tone! Is this a reincarnation of words? i felt this being written a long time ago and just re-righting again itself to fulfill a missing desire. well done!

  5. ink from the moon and woven onto Edgar’s loom are awesome images to me! Edgar smiles at you.

Fresh death, eh? I like those 2 words together like that.

Very tongue-in-cheek dark fun in this.

  7. Henry I really loved this from start to end, the rhyme and flow perfectly harmonious. I loved reading this aloud. Coupled with the image, the senses were alive in this read. Really well penned and I wanted to thank you for all your recent comments on my poetry. I appreciate you dearly ~ Rose

I like this poem. Very Poe(ish). I’m originally from Baltimore, so Poe is our local hero. Also, the picture is a great compliment to the writing.
